Foolishness and Wisdom
Psalm 14:1 The Holy Bible, New King James
Version Copyright © 1982 by Thomas Nelson, Inc. (NKJV)
To the Chief Musician. A
Psalm of David.
1The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt,
They have done abominable works, There is none who does good.
They have done abominable works, There is none who does good.
Daniel 2:20-21 (NKJV)
20 Daniel
answered and said:
“Blessed be the name of God forever
and ever, For wisdom and might are His.
21 And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise And
knowledge to those who have understanding.
Isaiah 29:14 (NKJV)
14 Therefore, behold, I will again do a marvelous work Among this people, A
marvelous work and a wonder; For the
wisdom of their wise men shall perish,
And the understanding of their prudent men shall be hidden.”
Proverbs 12:15 (NKJV)
15 The way of a fool is right in
his own eyes, But he who heeds counsel is wise.
Matthew 5:22 (NKJV)
22 But I say to you that
whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of
the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, ‘Raca!’ shall be in danger of
the council. But whoever says, ‘You fool!’ shall be in danger of hell fire.
Matthew 12:37 (NKJV)
37 For by your words you
will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”
Titus 3:3 (NKJV)
3 For we
ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts
and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another.
Proverbs 9:6 (NKJV)
6 Forsake foolishness and live, And
go in the way of understanding.
1 Corinthians 1:18-31 (NKJV)
18 For the
message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who
are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written:
“I will destroy the wisdom of the
wise,
And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”
And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”
20 Where is the wise?
Where is the scribe?
Where is the disputer
of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the
world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness
of the message preached to save those who believe. 22 For Jews request a sign, and Greeks
seek after wisdom; 23 but we preach Christ crucified, to the
Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks[b] foolishness, 24 but to those who are called, both Jews
and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser
than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. 26 For you see your calling, brethren,
that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are
called. 27 But God has chosen the foolish things
of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of
the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; 28 and the base things of the world and
the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to
bring to nothing the things that are, 29 that no flesh should glory in His
presence. 30 But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who
became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and
redemption— 31 that, as it is written, “He who glories,
let him glory in the Lord.”
1Corinthians 2:13 -16 (NKJV)
13 These things
we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy[a] Spirit
teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man does not receive
the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he
know them, because they
are spiritually discerned. 15 But he who is spiritual judges all
things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no
one. 16 For “who has known the
mind of the Lord that he may
instruct Him?” But we have
the mind of Christ.
My
Comments: Though the New Testament cautions us to call none Raca which means
fool there are Scripture that tell us what a foolish way to live is and what
wisdom is. The fool says in their heart, “There is no God.” And a wise man
believes His word and follows after Him and experience Truth and understanding.
A wise
person realizes they need God and Salvation because they are a sinner who is
broken and they need a relationship with the God of the Universe and can only
have that by going through Jesus Christ who died on the Cross for our sins, for
us sinners. The truth of God’s word brings us to the understanding that we are
all sinners and this leads us to repentance, acceptance of Jesus and a relationship
with Abba Father and a filling of the Holy Spirit. But none of this happens
until we are broken and willing to forsake the foolishness of the teachings of
the world and accept the Righteousness of the Salvation of Jesus and walk in
the way of understanding in wisdom.
Abba
Father, open our hearts to your truth and give us Your understanding that we
may be wise in Your truth. Help us to know Your and all follow all You have for
us to know that we may be wise in our relationship with You. For those who do
not know Your wisdom I pray their hearts be opened and all barriers be removed
for them to reject the wisdom of the world and receive Yours through the
Righteousness of Your Son Jesus the Christ who lived and died for all on the
Cross. I pray all will be filled with the Holy Spirit and know Your Truth,
understanding and wisdom and walk with You all the days of their lives, our
lives. In Jesus name in union with the Holy Spirit, I pray to You Father God.
Amen.

The First Born?
Colossians 1:15 (NKJV) The Holy Bible, New King
James Version Copyright © 1982 by Thomas Nelson, Inc. (NKJV)
15 He is the
image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
Colossians 1:18 (NKJV)
18 And He is the
head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the
dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.
Ephesians 4:1-6 (NKJV)
4 I, therefore,
the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which
you were called, 2 with all lowliness and gentleness, with
longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, 3 endeavoring to keep the unity of the
Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and
one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is above all, and
through all, and in you[a] all.
Mark 3:25 (NKJV)
25 And if a house is
divided against itself, that house cannot stand.
Romans 12:5 (NKJV)
5 so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually
members of one another.
Romans 12:10 (NKJV)
10 Be kindly
affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to
one another;
Luke 12:52 (NKJV)
52 For from now on five in
one house will be divided: three against two, and two against three.
Matthew 19:29 (NKJV)
29 And everyone who has
left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife[a]or children or lands, for My name’s
sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life.
My Comments: Lets look at “Firstborn” first shall we? Most of us
in the world think of the first child to be born is the firstborn child yet
that is not how God looks at it as you will notice when you look at the stories
in the Bible about Isaac and Jacob and others. It was rather about position or
importance. And Christ Jesus though fully God chose to be born fully man and
was considered the firstborn in that respect yet we know He was not the
firstborn if we were to look at a calendar of evens here on earth, right? There
is also the firstborn in order of prominence to God the Father’s plans and
Christ Jesus was surely the Firstborn in that regard.
When we accept Jesus as our Savior we are born into the Family of
God the Father. We leave our earthly Father, Mother, Sister, Brother and become
a part of the Family of God. It doesn’t mean we stop loving them of never talk
to them again as some cults have taught yet rather it is we know who our true
family is and we want them to come into the Family of God as well.
In some countries when on person comes to Jesus’ Salvation they go
home and tell all their biological or adopted families the “Good New” as the
Gospel is called, and whole families are converted and become born into the
Family of God. The old nature is dead and we are Born Again through the
Sacrifice, and blood of our Lord Jesus the second person of the Holy Trinity.
None can come to the Father except through the Son. Then they are filled with
the Holy Spirit. Many who are Born Again experience a total change in their way
of living, talking and being. Yet many of us take a bit longer and some a very
long time to change.
We are cautioned to love one another to bear with each others burdens,
to turn the other cheek, not sue our brethren, when asked to help we are
cautioned to help and we are asked to cry or laugh with our brethren who are
crying or laughing. We of the Family of God are not to be divided as our
earthly families because beloveds we are to have the Love of God in our hearts
for all. Love is a command not a choice. When filled with the Love of God it
overflows to the Love of all. Christ is Love and he is the Firstborn of God
because He is God and was born man.
Many are Firstborn in a different fashion than when one is born
from their Mothers womb. Though I was the first to be born from my folks it
would not have mattered if God had called my Sister first. Then she would have
been one of the First Born. As it is I am that person and what joy fills my
heart to know He has called me out of the world to walk with Him. Though I
would tarry in the garden with Him, He has work for me to do so I go forth as
He has me to do because I am His First Born and He is my Abba Father. May you
be His as well and he yours.
Abba Father, thank You for calling us out of the world and into
Your Family. For those not yet accepting of the gift of Salvation I pray You
will open their hearts so they will be willing to hear Your call and respond to
Your free gift of Love. May all our families and loved ones come to Salvation
and may they all be Born Again into the Family of God whatever it takes to
bring them to Your Family.
Lord Jesus, Lamb of God worthy is Your name and Holy and Righteous
are You. Thank You for Your Sacrifice and love and for calling us out to know
and follow You and all You give us to do. Help us to reject the world and
snares of the evil one. Protect us and our families for his wiles, snares and
pitfalls. Keep us as the apple of the eye of God and fill us with You Holy
Spirit.
Holy Spirit, guide, strengthen, fill us with wisdom and
understanding, knowledge and truth so our lives will be fully Abba’s and we
will walk with the Lord forever. In Jesus Holy and precious name in union with
the Holy Spirit I pray, Amen.
