Jesus
spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also
may glorify You, 2 as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give
eternal life to as many as You have given Him. 3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true
God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. 4 I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which
You have given Me to do. 5 And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the
glory which I had with You before the world was. 6 “I have manifested Your name to the men whom You have given Me out
of the world. They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your
word. 7 Now they have known that all things which You have given Me are
from You. 8 For I have given to them the words which You have given Me; and
they have received them, and have
known surely that I came forth from You; and they have believed that You sent
Me. 9 “I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom
You have given Me, for they are Yours. 10 And all Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine, and I am glorified in
them.11 Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I
come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that
they may be one as We are. 12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and none
of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be
fulfilled. 13 But now I come to You, and these things I speak in the world, that
they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves. 14 I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because
they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 15 I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that
You should keep them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. 18 As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the
world. 19 And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be
sanctified by the truth. 20 “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will[e] believe
in Me through their word; 21 that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me,
and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that
You sent Me. 22 And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may
be one just as We are one: 23 I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one,
and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You
have loved Me. 24 “Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me
where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You
loved Me before the foundation of the world. 25 O righteous Father! The world has not known You, but I have known
You; and these have known that You sent Me. 26 And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the
love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.”
John 21:19, (NKJV)
19 This He
spoke, signifying by what death he would glorify God. And when He had spoken
this, He said to him, “Follow Me.”
Matthew 16:24, (NKJV)
24 Then Jesus
said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me,
let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.
Matthew 11:28, (NKJV)
28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I
will give you rest.
Romans 6:5, (NKJV)
5 For if we have
been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection,
2 Corinthians 12:9, (NKJV)
9 And He said
to me, “My grace is sufficient
for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore
most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may
rest upon me.
Philippians 4:19, (NKJV)
19 And my God
shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
My Comments: In the beginning God
created. Who was God? He was and is Father, Son and Holy Spirit; Three in One
the I Am, Savior, Comforter, Creator. He has always been, is and always will be
the One True God above all other gods. Why is this important to know?
Because to understand our need for
salvation and where it comes from and why we need to understand who made it possible
and why it is needed. God created everything and our forefather Adam who He
took Eve from. He told them not to eat one fruit and they could have the rest.
They listened to Satan the serpent and sinned and sin entered the world.
Because of sin animals had to be sacrificed until Jesus, God the Son came to
earth and was born in human flesh from a Virgin. He went through the same
trials and temptations we did even though He was God because He was fully God
and fully man. Yet He came so we might have life abundantly and forever with
Him. How was that possible?
He chose to be the ultimate and perfect
sacrifice for our sin. For the sin of the whole world past, present and future
He allowed Himself to be tortured, mocked, spit upon and nailed to the Cross.
His is the perfect love that sacrificed all that we could be bought by His
blood and be Children of God if we accept the Sacrifice of Jesus for our sin
and repent and follow Him. This is complete surrender. What happens when we
surrender?
Well, of course the best thing is we
are accepted into the Family of God so we know where our home will one day be.
We become aliens here doing all in the name of Jesus we can to let others know
of this wonderful gift of Jesus so others may find salvation in Him as well.
And there is more for us here as well.
We find rest for our weary souls. We no
longer are buffeted by the winds that tend to assault us in life. Not to say we
will not experience pain, suffering, loss, hunger or other things yet even in
them we will have peace because we know the one who bought us with the price of
His own blood will take care of our needs and we give Him permission to use our
lives for the glory of God the Father. The Holy Spirit that came into us when
we accepted the free gift of Salvation teaches us through the things we go
through and strengthens us in these times.
Remember Paul went through many ordeals
after he became a follower of Jesus. He was tortured, shipwrecked many times, imprisoned,
and had a “Thorn” in his side (we do not know the infirmity yet he was told it
would remain) so how can we expect life to be better than Christ Jesus or the
Apostles? We can only know that our lives will be with Jesus one day what our
time here is over.
There is the joy and peace that
sustains us through all the temptations and trials. We know we are Children of
God and we live our life to show His glory. We want nothing that is not of Him.
We do not want to do what He would not do. True surrender is being united with
Jesus in the likeness of His death and resurrection until absolutely nothing
that is not of Him will appeal to us. We surrender our will and our love to
Him. We love as He loves because He first loved us.
Abba Father, thank You for creating us
and for sending Your Son to take the punishment for our sin. Thank You for
loving us and making it so we can be part of Your family and know the joy of
Salvation and the peace of Redemption. Thank You for keeping Jesus’
disciples/us united to You through Him and filling us with Your Holy Spirit
that we may come to know always where our steps should go and what our hands
should be doing and helping us keep our thoughts always with You and on Him.
Thank You, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, for keeping us as the apple of your
eye. In Jesus precious and Holy name in union with the Holy Spirit, I pray.
Amen.
Rebishka
