The First Born?

Colossians 1:15 (NKJV) The Holy Bible, New King James Version Copyright © 1982 by Thomas Nelson, Inc. (NKJV)

15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.

Colossians 1:18 (NKJV)

18 And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.

Ephesians 4:1-6 (NKJV)

I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you[a] all.

Mark 3:25 (NKJV)

25 And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

Romans 12:5 (NKJV)

so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.

Romans 12:10 (NKJV)

10 Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another;

Luke 12:52 (NKJV)

52 For from now on five in one house will be divided: three against two, and two against three.

Matthew 19:29 (NKJV)

29 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife[a]or children or lands, for My name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life.
My Comments: Lets look at “Firstborn” first shall we? Most of us in the world think of the first child to be born is the firstborn child yet that is not how God looks at it as you will notice when you look at the stories in the Bible about Isaac and Jacob and others. It was rather about position or importance. And Christ Jesus though fully God chose to be born fully man and was considered the firstborn in that respect yet we know He was not the firstborn if we were to look at a calendar of evens here on earth, right? There is also the firstborn in order of prominence to God the Father’s plans and Christ Jesus was surely the Firstborn in that regard.
When we accept Jesus as our Savior we are born into the Family of God the Father. We leave our earthly Father, Mother, Sister, Brother and become a part of the Family of God. It doesn’t mean we stop loving them of never talk to them again as some cults have taught yet rather it is we know who our true family is and we want them to come into the Family of God as well.
In some countries when on person comes to Jesus’ Salvation they go home and tell all their biological or adopted families the “Good New” as the Gospel is called, and whole families are converted and become born into the Family of God. The old nature is dead and we are Born Again through the Sacrifice, and blood of our Lord Jesus the second person of the Holy Trinity. None can come to the Father except through the Son. Then they are filled with the Holy Spirit. Many who are Born Again experience a total change in their way of living, talking and being. Yet many of us take a bit longer and some a very long time to change.
We are cautioned to love one another to bear with each others burdens, to turn the other cheek, not sue our brethren, when asked to help we are cautioned to help and we are asked to cry or laugh with our brethren who are crying or laughing. We of the Family of God are not to be divided as our earthly families because beloveds we are to have the Love of God in our hearts for all. Love is a command not a choice. When filled with the Love of God it overflows to the Love of all. Christ is Love and he is the Firstborn of God because He is God and was born man.
Many are Firstborn in a different fashion than when one is born from their Mothers womb. Though I was the first to be born from my folks it would not have mattered if God had called my Sister first. Then she would have been one of the First Born. As it is I am that person and what joy fills my heart to know He has called me out of the world to walk with Him. Though I would tarry in the garden with Him, He has work for me to do so I go forth as He has me to do because I am His First Born and He is my Abba Father. May you be His as well and he yours.
Abba Father, thank You for calling us out of the world and into Your Family. For those not yet accepting of the gift of Salvation I pray You will open their hearts so they will be willing to hear Your call and respond to Your free gift of Love. May all our families and loved ones come to Salvation and may they all be Born Again into the Family of God whatever it takes to bring them to Your Family.
Lord Jesus, Lamb of God worthy is Your name and Holy and Righteous are You. Thank You for Your Sacrifice and love and for calling us out to know and follow You and all You give us to do. Help us to reject the world and snares of the evil one. Protect us and our families for his wiles, snares and pitfalls. Keep us as the apple of the eye of God and fill us with You Holy Spirit.
Holy Spirit, guide, strengthen, fill us with wisdom and understanding, knowledge and truth so our lives will be fully Abba’s and we will walk with the Lord forever. In Jesus Holy and precious name in union with the Holy Spirit I pray, Amen.

Rebishka
