2 Corinthians 1:10, New King James Version (NKJV)
10 who delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver us; in whom we trust that He will still deliver us,
Psalm 34, (NKJV)
The Happiness of Those Who Trust in God
A Psalm of David when he pretended madness before Abimelech, who drove him away, and he departed.
34 I
will bless the Lord at all times;
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
2 My soul shall make its boast in the Lord;
The humble shall hear of it and be glad.
3 Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
And let us exalt His name together.
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
2 My soul shall make its boast in the Lord;
The humble shall hear of it and be glad.
3 Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
And let us exalt His name together.
4 I sought the Lord, and He heard me,
And delivered me from all my fears.
5 They looked to Him and were radiant,
And their faces were not ashamed.
6 This poor man cried out, and the Lord heard him,
And saved him out of all his troubles.
7 The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him,
And delivers them.
8 Oh, taste and see that
the Lord is good;
Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!
9 Oh, fear the Lord, you His saints!
There is no want to those who fear Him.
10 The young lions lack and suffer hunger;
But those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.
Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!
9 Oh, fear the Lord, you His saints!
There is no want to those who fear Him.
10 The young lions lack and suffer hunger;
But those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.
11 Come, you children,
listen to me;
I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
12 Who is the man who desires life,
And loves many days, that he may see good?
13 Keep your tongue from evil,
And your lips from speaking deceit.
14 Depart from evil and do good;
Seek peace and pursue it.
I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
12 Who is the man who desires life,
And loves many days, that he may see good?
13 Keep your tongue from evil,
And your lips from speaking deceit.
14 Depart from evil and do good;
Seek peace and pursue it.
15 The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
And His ears are open to their cry.
16 The face of the Lord is against those who do evil,
To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
And His ears are open to their cry.
16 The face of the Lord is against those who do evil,
To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
17 The righteous
cry out, and the Lord hears,
And delivers them out of all their troubles.
18 The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart,
And saves such as have a contrite spirit.
And delivers them out of all their troubles.
18 The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart,
And saves such as have a contrite spirit.
19 Many are the
afflictions of the righteous,
But the Lord delivers him out of them all.
20 He guards all his bones;
Not one of them is broken.
21 Evil shall slay the wicked,
And those who hate the righteous shall be condemned.
22 The Lord redeems the soul of His servants,
And none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned.
But the Lord delivers him out of them all.
20 He guards all his bones;
Not one of them is broken.
21 Evil shall slay the wicked,
And those who hate the righteous shall be condemned.
22 The Lord redeems the soul of His servants,
And none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned.
My Comments: I know I said I would try to keep the amount of
the post to a small amount, ahem, yet this all goes together so I included it
all. My main focus was to show how our loving Abba Father takes care of us and
He does it even when we do not do all we should do as His children. Sort of
like our children do as they are growing up. Hopefully, we grow and walk away
from Him less as we mature.
In the verse 1:10
of 2 Corinthians, we see how the Lord has taken care and will take care of us. We
see this in several of the other verses in Psalm is several verses. Not always as
we would like it to be or even think it should be. Remember, to tell God how it
should be done is to set ourselves above Him and in effect tell Him we
ourselves know best so we must be god’s. Sort of like our children when they
tell us how we should give them what they want and when they want it, Right?
Well, they are not the parent and we are not god’s that we can tell God how He
should handle our situation or anyone’s. We grow up thinking we are entitled so
we approach God in the same way. And the way society is we are fed that
nonsense daily. Children get it even more in their classrooms or interactions
with children who have not learned better. Yet we are not children and we
should know better and so should have David.
Here is the man after God’s own heart who God chose to be
and anointed to be King over His people, going to a kingdom of people who were
against His people and asking for asylum (in fact this is Moab where Goliath
came from and God had forbidden them to be with) from King Saul. King Saul has
turned his back on God and now is deluded, jealous and hateful towards David who
never did anything against King Saul.
We see in 1Samuel all that has transpired up to David
running to the hills and to Moab
with 400 following him and his parents and brothers as well. David feigns being
an idiot (in front of King Achish of Gath in 1Samuel 21)with drool coming out of his mouth and everything, so he will not be
killed by his enemies. Read 1 Samuel and you will see how easy it is for even
one chosen of God to go astray and not trust in the Lord completely. Yet David
continued to know where his help would come from and when you read the three
Cave Psalms you will see a man who though doing what he thinks is right (though he was wrong) still
sought after God and His help and so should we.
I will post two more entries in the next few days and let
you read, reread and meditate on these verses. I recommend you read 1Samuel if
possible to get a better background on the story of David and Saul as it is
good to have background and foundation for a study.
Abba Father, thank You for Your Word given to the Prophets
that You sent with Your Word to show us how we should and should not live our
lives. May we learn the truths You have written in Your Word. May we glorify
You in how we use Your Word in our walk with You. May we daily grow in Your
Word and Abba Father, grow our faith and understanding, enrich us with Your
wisdom and knowledge. Not for ourselves but to bring glory to Your name and
others to Your Kingdom.
Lord Jesus, help us to see You as we read the Word and grow
in it daily. Help us to allow You to use us more and may our praise of You be
always what others see in us.
Holy Spirit grow our faith and trust that we will never
doubt or question why things happen the way they do yet we will rely completely
on our Heavenly Father and trust Him at all times. Let us not be like David and
Saul and think we have to do it ourselves when we have a Father who can and
will do everything that needs to be done. Let us be like David who eventually
turned to Abba Father and gave Him the glory and praise.
In Jesus name in union with the Holy Ghost I pray, Amen
Rebishka
